As Sarah Elkins walks to work each day, she always notices a pup playing out in a backyard near her office. Every time Sarah passed by, the pup would wag her tail and seem very happy to see her, and Sarah felt the same way for the pup. Sarah wanted to pet the sweet pup, but she didn’t want to do so without asking permission from the pup’s family.
Though Sarah couldn’t pet the pup, she would talk to the pup and call her pretty. But one day, after having a rough start on work, Sarah went out for a walk. As soon as Sarah saw the pup’s face from the yard, Sarah knew that she had pet the dog. So she ran back to her office and printed a note that requested permission to pet the pup.
As soon as she printed the note, she ran back to the yard and hung the paper inside the pup’s gate so her owners wouldn’t miss seeing it. The next morning, Sarah walked to her work in anticipation that she would receive a reply to her request note. To her delight, Sarah was greeted with a note when she arrived at the pup’s yard.
“OF COURSE” was the first two words written on the note from the pup’s owners, and Sarah couldn’t be happier to read those words. The note even had the name of the pup, Sparrow. Now, Sarah has every right to enjoy petting and showering sweet Sparrow with lots of love.
Sarah admitted that she was nervous that the pup’s owners wouldn’t give her permission, but now her worries are all gone. Happily, Sarah walks to work every morning and makes sure to pet Sparrow before heading into her office. No doubt, Sarah is very glad that she has made a new friend in the sweet pup.
