A tourist who was vacationing in Russia called Howl Of A Dog about a stray dog that he keeps seeing on his way to his hotel. The people in the area said that he has been living in that neighborhood for years.
The Howl Of A Dog team went to the area and named the dog, Helen. Helen is one of the lucky strays who was rescued by the organization. All thanks to the tourist’s report.
Helen was lucky to be where she was because different passersby would give her treats now and then. But it still has its disadvantages. Helen was in danger of getting hit by cars.
She also needed to face the rainy and stormy days, and even had to withstand cold winters. When the rescuers took her away from where she was staying, they immediately rushed her to the vet clinic, which was a two-hour drive.
The vets ran some blood test, and Helen was positive Anaplasmosis, which is a tick-borne disease. Helen was receiving medication while under the care of the organization.
Helen even got her first bath after so many years. It must have felt like heaven after being cleaned up. This was the start of a new chapter in Helen’s life.
After one month, Helen was brought by the organization to the vet clinic for a follow-up check-up. The vet ran another batch of blood test and came out with good news.
Everything turned out okay. Helen is now Anaplasmosis-free and is in tip-top shape. Helen is a well-behaved dog and should not have a hard time finding a family.
The only hindrance might be her age as she is already in her senior. Helen is already seven years old. With or without an adoptive family, Helen will always have her Howl Of A Dog family.
