You will always hear stories of dogs saving their humans from imminent danger. But it’s also nice to hear that humans will do the same for their dogs, just like this woman named Willobee who has managed to save her dog from a 300-pound bear.
While most people have not had an encounter with a bear, they know how scary it is. Even though a person should avoid bears as much as possible, a human that is loyal to his or her dog will do anything to protect the pup.
Check out this incredible story of Willobee and her dog named Lucy.
Facing the danger brought by the bear
When Willobee gets home, she decides to take Lucy outside just like what she always does. The eight-year-old good girl bolts out to do her business. But when Lucy returns home, Willobee notices that something big is right behind the dog.
It is a bear! Lucy gets into the fight with the bear that weights about 300 pounds. Watching what is happening in horror, Willobee still manages to figure out something.
Willobee calls out to Lucy to get her running towards her. Once Lucy is near the house, Willobee immediately pulls the dog inside before the bear decides to continue the fight.
Once the pup is inside the house, Willobee inspects her wounds and sees that Lucy has several claw marks. The dog owner quickly calls an emergency veterinarian.
Lucy is recovering
Lucy has to go through surgery to treat her wounds, and she will need to have a few follow-up appointments. Thankfully, she is doing well, considering the vicious attack from the bear. Lucy’s recovery may take some time, but it is good to know that there is already progress.
Willobee concludes that the bird feeders in the backyard entice the bear. So, she takes them down and gets rid of all the seeds. She also puts away anything that may possibly lure the bear back to her yard.
