There are times that good samaritans come in the most unexpected places — and yes, faces. And this truth was clearly shown by a man named Keith Walker, a 53-year-old homeless from Georgia who showed that kindness could come from anyone.
Walker has been living as a homeless man since he was 13-years-old. Still, the plight he has experienced for a very long time has never made him bitter and resentful. Instead, he spends each day in joy and love with his beloved dog named Bravo.
But while there’s no doubt that Walker has a good heart, it will be put to the test through an unexpected incident that would prove how far his goodness can go.
While walking his dog one day on the street, he was shocked to see that a nearby animal shelter called W-Underdogs Animal Shelter was burning. Instead of running away to protect himself and his dog, what he did next was truly unbelievable; he ran right inside the shelter to rescue everyone he can save there, including the animals. It was undoubtedly a risky task that might even cost his life, but all Walker could think at that time was somebody needed his help.
After a few moments, the firefighters arrived at the scene. And while there was no longer any shelter staff inside the facility, they were informed that six dogs and ten cats were still inside.
The firefighters decided to call animal control to deal with the animals, but they discovered that Walker was already taking them out of the animal shelter. Fortunately, he was able to save all of them, and the incident ended without any reports of casualties.
Meanwhile, the animal shelter’s founder, Grace Hamlin, has expressed her extreme gratitude for Walker’s heroic act. She was so thankful that she couldn’t help but call him her guardian angel.
One fascinating act about this incident is that Walker’s dog, Bravo, has once been allowed by the animal shelter to sleep inside its facilities. And no one has ever expected that Bravo’s owner would return the favor in a massive way.
